that feeling of warmth and fondness reminds xie lian of -
it reminds him of someone who he can't remember, either. it disappears as claude's warmth towards a teacher and a guide starts to fade from the outside of his memories, and xie lian blinks, sitting utterly still for a moment, his hand frozen on the paper. he takes a deep breath, in, and then out, to clear the static out of his own head.
...but, seeing his classmates and this important person... it's heartening, to know that at home claude is surrounded by those who care for him. xie lian has a smile for him, understanding, and he shakes his head. that feeling - that is one to hold on to. ]
...It's alright, Claude. They're difficult to avoid, and... I doubt Miss Hikaru would mind, that we're bonding.
